Calgary Flames vs. New Jersey Devils: Current situation
The Calgary Flames had a furious start to the season, winning the first four games on the schedule, but were not able to keep the same pace. What is obvious is that head coach Ryan Huska is doing a great job with the team, and the Flames play way more aggressively since he took over the position last season. Calgary has been one of the toughest places to play for the visiting teams, and based on the first month of the season, no team will have an easy job in the Stampede City.
The New Jersey Devils started the season overseas and are closing a very difficult month of October as they are the team with the most games played in the Eastern Conference. All that paid off, as the Devils have one of the best starts in the past decade, and this may be the year the Devils fans have been waiting for. One of the main reasons for the Devils’ early success is head coach Sheldon Keefe, who arrived this offseason after spending the previous five in Toronto.
Calgary Flames Stats & Form
The Calgary Flames started the season at the top of the Western Conference, but after losing four of the last five games, they dropped to seventh place. The 5-0 loss in Vegas against the Golden Knights was the lowest point of the season, and the Flames are hoping to change direction when they get back home. Calgary is 16th in the league, scoring 3.11 goals per game, and is ranked two spots lower, allowing 3.22. Defenseman Rasmus Andersson leads the team with 10 points so far in the season.
New Jersey Devils Stats & Form
After a while, the New Jersey Devils look like a real contender, even though it is too early in the season to judge that. After winning 4 of their first 5 games, the Devils expectedly cooled off and lost four straight games, including an 8-5 against the Tampa Bay Lightning. They stopped the bleeding with a 6-2 home win against the Anaheim Ducks and then left for a three-game road trip on the West. The Devils are eighth in the league, scoring 3.67 goals per game, and are ranked 20th, allowing 3.25. Nico Hischier leads the league with 9 goals so far in the season and is ranked 14th with a total of 12 points.
Calgary Flames – New Jersey Devils: Head to Head
The Calgary Flames have won 7 of the last 10 games against the New Jersey Devils and only one of those ten went to overtime. The Devils were on a three-game winning streak, including two on the road, before the Flames won 5-3 in the last one. Six of the last seven games between these two teams went over 5.5 goals in total.

Betting tip and prediction: Calgary Flames - New Jersey Devils (01.11.2024)
The New Jersey Devils have a very tough schedule to open the month of November as they are going on a three-game road trip in the West. Their second stop in Canada is in Calgary, where they won the last two games. The Devils had a winning road record at the beginning of the season, something that was not very common for them. Still, winning on the road and winning in Calgary is not exactly the same, as the Flames have been known for their huge fan base. Calgary is also off to a great start, and it is obvious that the team led by Mikael Backlund and Nazem Kadri has matured and is ready for big things. They had a tough week, losing three consecutive games, but once they are back home, things look much more promising. Still, the Devils have been the better team in recent matchups and have a decent chance to win this one. Betting on the winner of this game is pretty risky, so we go with over 5.5 goals, which happened in 7 of their last 8 games.
